On the JodiDiamond.com YouTube Channel (Coming Soon) I talked about starting each morning with a 5 minute prayer, why you should do it, and how it benefits your life. I also discussed how this small change benefited my life in a blog called “How I Changed My Life With A 5 Minute Prayer.”
Now lets make this simple and not over complicate things. I am by no means a prayer expert but I can tell you how to pray to change your life with a simple morning prayer. Any prayer is powerful and every prayer is meant to be unique. ❌🔮 It’s not a spell, a chant, or something where you have to say the same thing over an over. Your prayer does not have to be long to have meaning, it just has to be from the heart. A prayer is a opportunity to speak with the creator of the universe.🌌
Matthew 6:7 “ And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their man words.”
The morning prayer is divided into three sections. First begin by thanking God for the things that you do have. Why? Because starting out your prayer by being grateful for your blessings whether big or small helps humble you before beginning the rest of your prayer. Opening your prayers with gratefulness puts you in a great mood at the start of the day because you are reminding yourself of the things you can be happy about. Most importantly it is what God asks us to do. Not only does God ask us in the bible to be grateful and give thanks but there is over 90 verses about it, two of which I have listed below.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Psalm 118:24 “This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
The Second thing is to pray for others. This one is simple, “…Love your neighbor as yourself”(Matthew 22:39). Which means love everyone as much as you love yourself. You can read Matthew 22: 36-40 to learn the two greatest commandments of all. Those Matthew 22 verses are the main reason I chose to include others in my prayers second.
Third, pray for yourself. Pray for your personal goals and the things you want to achieve in your life. Also don’t forget to pray about the things you may struggle with and want to improve on. Trust me its not hard to pray for yourself and what you want. Since you began the prayer with giving God thanks and considering others you have can ask for your blessings guilt free. God wants you to pray for the things you want.
Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Lastly, you have to BELIEVE. Believe and have faith that God will answers your prayers. Goals whether they be physical, financial, or spiritual only get accomplished if you believe it can be done.
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Matthew 21:22 “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
